About

Depression and Me is a blog about my experiences with depression. Tactics I’ve used to resist it, live with it, or even overcome it for periods at a time without the use of pharmaceuticals. I will try to educate individuals unfamiliar with depression as a sufferer views it and hopefully my experiences will show others who suffer they aren’t alone.

Depression is more difficult to diagnose in men and it is a serious issue among us. I hope this blog helps more than me as it isn’t an excuse to gripe to the Internet. It’s a chance to share what I feel, what I’ve felt, and what I will struggle with my entire life. A sufferer who ranted about his problems once kept me from making the last mistake of my life. Maybe I can do the same for someone else.

  1. I look forward to the insights that your blogs will hopefully provide. Thank you for being brave enough to share it with others. 🙂

    • I thank you for the support. Many people from without don’t understand the thought processes we sufferers go through and many sufferers are scared or wary to share their experiences. I hope through example I can help people realize there are people we can trust. Help we can get. Support we can have.

  2. My son died exactly 2 yrs ago less one week, they said it was suicide. Since then, it has been hard to face each day. I don’t think I would have made it except for my incredible horse (who had been horribly abused before I got him). He listens to me, he accepts the tears, and on occasion, makes me laugh. He IS the reason I get up every morning, and without him, I would not be here.
